The project was developed as part of the PARL programme – Performance Art Research Ljubljana 2022.

"this is my truth, tell me yours" is an original project by playwright and author Jasna Jasna Žmak, in which she deals with her relationship with the artistic field, questioning her own and others' positions as authors and the responsibility and anxiety they imply. Starting from a personal experience in 2011, when the author Jasna Žmak, as a spectator of the performance MandićStroj, developed tinnitus and hyperacusis because of a shot fired with a theatre gun. Žmak explores the ways in which art shapes the reality we live in ŽmakStroj. The seemingly unrelated themes of tinnitus and patriarchy become the central skeleton of this play, which operates on the border between stand-up comedy and lecture. Žmak, who for the first time appears on stage as a performer, engages with questions of truth and representation, participation and responsibility, and takes us through her own dramaturgical and sexual experiences, while asking herself and the audience questions about the meaning and purpose of artistic production in an age of savage capitalism.
